Philippe Starck’s 50th Anniversary Barbie Chair
The iconic plastic doll we grew up with has turned 50 years old and to celebrate that, Philippe Starck has designed a special limited edition chair in honor of her.
As anything Barbie, this Lulu Ghost chair comes in pretty pink. Making it transparent has a very mod and stylish effect, Philippe Starck does know her style and image! It looks very vintage but still very, very beautiful, right?
The chair carries a price tag of whopping $270, so yes, this is definitely not a toy for young girls, it is an actual furniture. But you can still get a smaller version of this for $100, for the kids to enjoy.

Product Details:
The Philippe Starck-designed Kartell Louis and Lou Lou Ghost Chairs have been doing good business for the manufacturer since their launch in 2003 and 208 respectively, so we’ll expect these 50th anniversary Barbie editions to fly off the shelves.
It’s a classic, almost vintage chair shape, updated for the modern era with that clear polycarbonate finish. And now updated for 2009 with a transparent pink finish and an hand-illustrated Barbie image and logo that’s certain to appeal to collectors.
The Louis is the adult version while the Lou Lou is for kids. Of course the number of chairs produced are severely limited in numbers.
