Would you use a snake venom face cream?
The best selling beauty cream product in the last few weeks in Selfridges in UK has been attributed to having an unusual healing power: Snake Venom.
Planet Skincare, which costs about £60 contains a synthesized ingredient of snake venom, is selling really fast in that store, sometimes selling even 50 pots daily.
The effects of the face cream is similar to what snakebites can do to our bodies, in that it stuns it. One gets a Botox-like feeling on the skin when the face cream is applied. Now, that may sound like something you should worry about since no one likes to have a stiff face.
On the bright side, the formula, said to be pattered after the viper snake, claims to reduce lines and wrinkles in four weeks, thus giving women a smoother facial complexion.
Christine Benson of Selfridges said —
- ‘Products containing snake venom have been used for a few months now in the US, actresses especially love the effect. Unlike Botox it allows the face movement and emotion, but lessens wrinkles and paralyses muscles which cause creases.’
